Across the Sky – A Poem

You came among us

already shining bright.

Slowly and with care,

you helped to encourage,

to shape and to define.

Now as you move on,

we are brighter and

more vibrant than before

because of you. We are

the galaxy and you are

the comet, heading towards

your future. You leave

a trail of stardust

behind you so that

we can chart your path

across the sky.
